Late Payments and Collections
All electric
bills are mailed on the 19th of each month and are due and payable
by the 5th of the following month. If not paid or postmarked
before the 5th of the following month, a late charge of the
greater of $2.00 or 1.5 % of the monthly balance will be added.
If the bill is
not paid by the next billing cycle, a final delinquent notice will
be sent along with the next month's bill. This is the only
delinquent notice sent. If no response is made a collection trip
will be made by a Roseau electric employee to collect the bill.
Please notify your Cooperative immediately if you cannot pay a
delinquent bill. We will attempt to work out a payment plan or
explain other forms of public assistance. Failure to agree on a
suitable payment plan or qualify for public assistance may result
in disconnection of service.
If it becomes
necessary to make a collection call at the member's home during
regular working hours, a collection charge of $30 will be added to
the amount due.
If the
collection trip results in the disconnection of the electric
service, another $30 is charged to have the service reconnected
during working hours or $100 after working hours (2:30 p.m.).
A deposit may also be required for reconnection.
